Store Concept & Development Project Manager - BERN

The role is to bring forward-thinking and imaginative ideas to support our Global Store Concept within our retail environments.

POSITION: STORE CONCEPT & DEVELOPMENT PROJECT MANAGER

 

OVERALL OBJECTIVE

As Store Concept and Development Project Manager, working under the direction of Global Store Concept and Visual Merchandising Director. The role is to bring forward-thinking and imaginative ideas to support our Global Store Concept within our retail environments.  To independently and with Franchisee partners, complete new store projects through layout drawings, store elevations, including cost control, through to project installation and completion. Stores must be finished to the required quality, on time and on Budget.  The role requires working with a passion for searching out new concept and fixtures ideas, as well as maintaining and introducing clear processes.  This hybrid role requires excellent Design, Supply Chain Management and Project Management skills to support the creation of original retail design solutions that reflect the Athletes Foot design ethos, support retail business targets, and enhance the consumer retail experience.

 

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply our global store design to all new and remodeled stores across our International markets.

  • Ensure our store executions consistently align with our brand positioning as an international leader in sports lifestyle.

  • Lead new store opening or remodel projects by preparing floor plans, storefront elevations, and other materials to support design solutions while adhering to our global guidelines and brand strategy

  • Work with the architectural features of the stores to customize our design elements based on the type of store, the surrounding environment, and the physical space and layout

  • Partner with Construction on the procurement of furniture, fixtures and equipment from selected suppliers.

  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to assure project completion within schedule and budget.

  • Advocate for design integrity

  • Identify and propose solutions to resolve issues that can impact project schedule, cost or design integrity

  • Contribute to the evolution of the department through development of clear tools and processes, as well as effective Supply Chain Management to benefit both internally and for the Franchisees.

  • Manage, under the direction of Senior Management, the evolution and design of the Global Store Concept through maintaining our TAF values and delivering a unique consumer experience.

  • Demonstrate a working level of business knowledge

     

    OUR REQUIREMENTS:

    Education

  • Proficiency in Auto CAD and in Adobe Creative Suite Cloud and or 3D concept drawing software

  • High level of expertise using Macintosh computer design applications and SketchUp is preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architectural, Environmental, or Industrial Design

     

    Abilities & Experience

  • Proven track record to perform in both Project Management and Design tasks simultaneously.

  • At least 3 years of Architectural or Brand Design Management.

  • Ability to perform and apply design skills: architectural design, space planning & fixture design and deliver into built reality

  • Visual presentation skills

  • Experience in project planning, finance (Budget Control) and execution

  • Experience working collaboratively with a team and also leading smaller design projects

  • Positivity and eagerness to do great work in a team environment

  • Ability to manage a dynamic set of multiple work priorities, demands and changes

  • Retail design industry/environments and fixture design experience is preferred
